One of the most common problems cited for cracks in buildings is that of subsidence bu it is often thermal movement caused by the expansion and contraction of the fabric of the building due to hot and cold weather that can be the cause. Expansions joints will allow for this but some buildings do not have them and I suspect our 1930’s build does not.

Here a some of the cracks we’ve had repaired. It’s by no means the whole lot but there’s a limit to how many times people want to view cracked walls and balconies!
